The microtubules emanate from the polar regions of the cell, forming the spindle, and correctly align and separate the chromosomes.
Differences in Cell Plate Formation and Cytokinesis
The formation of the cell plate in plant cells is a complex process involving the Golgi apparatus and vesicles. These vesicles carry the precursors for the new cell wall, including cellulose and pectin. The fusion of these vesicles contributes to the growth of the cell plate, which eventually matures into a complete cell wall.
